Our Servant Leaders
Rod has served as Central's minister since 1992. He was born in south Georgia where he grew up going to Georgia Christian School for 12 years. Rod attended Harding University where he earned a Bachelors's Degree in Bible and then continued on to Harding Graduate where he earned his Master's in Theology. Rod is heavily involved in the Sarasota community through the ministries of Baank and through various committees he serves on for the community. Rod also provides biblical counseling to individuals and couples. In 2011, Rod was asked to serve as the Chaplin of the Sarasota County Fire Department. Rod was married to Brenda Hines Myers in 1974 and together they have five grown children and twelve grandchildren .Email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Brian has been an elder at Central since 2016, having also been an elder for 15 years in McAllen, TX. As an MD, Brian retired after 39 years in public health in Nigeria, Guatemala, the Choctaw and Cherokee Nations in Oklahoma, the Rio Grande border, and served 23 years with Texas Department of Health in tuberculosis and as regional director for the 19 county region of south Texas. Ruth and Brian met in Cameroon and were married in 1978 in Des Moines, IA.
Ron has served as a shepherd since 1995. He served as the minister for an area congregation for several years and has been involved in foreign missions. He is a graduate of Sunset School of Evangelism, is a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) Securities Principal and Branch Manager. He also spends considerable time volunteering within the community. He is married to Alison since 1973, has three grown sons, and two grandchildren.
